During the upcoming Mardi Gras weekend, one or more checkpoints and roving patrols will be strategically placed on roads with high rates of DUI-related traffic violations and crashes throughout Pennsylvania.

Drivers are reminded of Pennsylvania’s DUI laws, which set a legal blood alcohol concentration (BAC) limit of 0.08%. Penalties for DUI offenses can range from a $300 fine with six months of probation to fines of up to $5,000 and prison sentences of up to five years.
One of the participating counties for DUI checkpoints included Snyder County, where three arrests have already been made as a result of these measures from November. However, specific details regarding the locations of the DUI patrols this month were not provided by the Pennsylvania State Police.
